Terms of use
Last updated 2026-10-31. This text is general and will be revised as the service develops.
These terms apply when you use Vidvat (the service). By creating an account or using the service you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the service.
What the service is
Vidvat works out Vedic (sidereal) astrology charts, dasha periods and related readings from the birth details you enter, and shows them with explanations of how they are read. It is a tool for reflection and guidance and for people who study astrology.
No promises, and no advice
- The readings describe how a chart and its periods are read by astrological rules. They do not predict events and they are not guaranteed to be right.
- Nothing in the service is medical, legal, financial, or other professional advice. Do not make decisions about your health, money, relationships, work or safety on the strength of a reading alone, and see a qualified professional where that matters.
- Charts depend on the birth details you give. A wrong date, time or place gives a wrong chart.
Your account
- You must give a real email address that you control, and keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- You may add the birth details of other people only if you have a good reason to hold them and they, or their guardians, would not object.
- You may delete your account and your data yourself from the Account page at any time.
Acceptable use
Do not misuse the service: no attempts to break into it, overload it, copy it in bulk, resell it, or use it to harm or harass anyone, or for anything unlawful.
Access to sections
Which parts of the service you can open depends on the access given to your account. Access may be limited, changed or withdrawn, and features may be added, changed or removed, as the service develops. Features marked "coming soon" are not available yet.
Our content
The service, its design and its text belong to Vidvat or its licensors. You keep the details you enter. You give Vidvat permission to store and process them to provide the service to you, and to use them to understand how the service performs and to make it better, including for academic purposes.
Suspension and ending
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or others at risk. You may stop using the service at any time.
Limits of responsibility
The service is provided as it is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not responsible for losses that come from relying on a reading, from an interruption of the service, or from an error in a calculation. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have by law that cannot be limited.
Changes
We may change these terms as the service develops. The date above shows the current version, and we ask you to accept a new version where the change matters.
